My time will come
In collaboration with actor and writer Zubin Varla, LAO created and previewed a new play featuring an ensemble of actors, musicians, a baritone singer, and symphony orchestra, telling the story of the early life of Gustav Mahler.
The story was written and compiled using Mahler’s own letters, articles, and the writings of other musicians and composers who knew him, and including many different styles of music that would have influenced the young composer.
Seen and Heard International called it: “engrossing” and “if only some of our bigger national orchestras were as innovative”
As part of the event, Baritone Luke D Williams performed the Songs of a Wayfarer, and the orchestra, led by Jörg Hammann and conducted by Edward Farmer, performed the First Symphony by Mahler to bring the evening to a thrilling conclusion.
